Is it safe to drink tea during pregnancy?

Drinking tea can be comforting, but having too much caffeine when pregnant might not be good for the baby. Studies suggest that consuming lots of caffeine could make the baby be born too early, too small, or with birth defects. It might even increase the risk of losing the baby before birth.

Pregnant women to limit their caffeine intake to less than 200 milligrams per day. For a woman the less caffeine consumed the better it is for your baby while pregnant or breastfeeding.
